34 Arrested For Illegal Roadside Activities In Ojo

  • by

34 persons have been remanded in prison custody till the 22nd of July, for offences ranging from trading, residing, and defecation on the Alaba Rago, Ojo road median and setbacks.

The suspects, comprising 32 males and 2 females, were arrested during a special operation conducted by officers of KIA and LAWMA on Sunday. The operation aimed to clean and clear the road, which had been taken over by different traders who had erected illegal structures.

Some of those arrested include miscreants who slept in a makeshift shed erected on the median to perpetrate crime in that area.

They were arraigned today (Tuesday) before the Magistrate’s Court sitting at Bolade, Oshodi, and have been remanded in custodial detention until 22 July 2025.

This is a show of the effort the Lagos State government is putting into making sure of the cleanliness, safety, and zero-tolerance stance on deviant behaviors and street trading violations.

Residents were urged to uphold basic standards of public decency and cooperate with efforts to maintain a cleaner and more sustainable Lagos.
