For a long period of time the drainages in 7th Avenue, Festac Town has been a major problem in the area.
The residents and stakeholders of 7th avenue have solicited the intervention of the Ola Western Campaign group to address this lingering drainage problem.
The Deputy Leader of the Legislative Arm of Amuwo Odofin LGA, Hon. Feyisope Idowu who called the group members to the residents association meeting, noted that it has become necessary because the government cannot do it alone.
Prominet leaders, residents and stakeholders including the Chairman of 7th Avenue residents association pleaded with the group to address the drainage issue at their domain, noting that they have been grappling with the problem for long.
” We know that the government cannot do it alone. As a group, we have decided to assist the community in all ramifications.
” We know the history of the local government, and we are quite aware of your challenges. I want to assure you that the group will address it. – Mr. Ola Folorunsho
Mr Folorunsho stated that the group is out to assist the community as part of its vision and mission which is centred on Corporate social responsibility and further appealed to the residents to prevent avoidable human and material losses by discouraging dumping of refuse in the drainage.
It would be recalled that the group collaborated with Amuwo Odofin LGA to clear the drainage at Ward A1 & 2 in Mile 2.
