On 12th of March, about 2:20am , A shop (name withheld) at Agboju Market, Festac Town was allegedly robbed of items worth about 1.3 million Naira.
According to source, Four men namely Emmanuel Uchechukwu (19), Sarafa Idris (55), Joseph Suru (50) and Adisan Fatai (58) have been arrested allegedly breaking and entering a shop to steal goods worth N1.3 million in Lagos.
Uchechukwu, Idris, Suru and Fatai are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, burglary and stealing after being arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Friday Inedu told the court that the defendants committed the offences on March 12, 2019 at
“The defendants conspired together with others at large to burgle a shop and steal clothes and shoes valued at N1,250,000 property of Victor Osude and Thomas Chidera,” Inedu said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411, 307 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
All the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
Magistrate Temitope Babalola granted the defendant bail in the sum of N150,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The sureties, according to the Magistrate must furnish the court with proof of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the case till April 12, 2019 for mention.
