Amuwo LG First Lady Celebrates International Womens Day 2018 In Festac

Festac town & entire Amuwo-Odofin wasn’t left out of the globally celebrated International women’s day 2018.
It held at the Council secretariat headquarters, 4th Avenue, Festac Town, Lagos and at the Police college, Ikeja , Lagos.

To celebrate this day , the first lady, the wife of the Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin LGA, Mrs. Opeyemi Buraimoh has urged Nigerian women to contribute positively to human and societal development.

She said that women are energetic, hard-working, strong and zealous in all core areas of life, hence the need for them to come out of their shell and support the growth of the country.

She added that the International Women Day signifies inestimable civil awareness day, women’s and girls day, Anti-Sexism Day.

” We are using this day not only to empower the women but to re-orientate, motivate and diversify the multitude of all women collectively across all sections of human subsistence and stand firmly as change evolves,” Mrs Buraimoh noted.

Meanwhile, the Council Mayor, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh tasked women to be productive and creative.

” We all have a role in nation building. I believe in our women and I know they have a lot to give.

” They can engage in vocational skills. This will make them less dependant and be productive,” he added.
