A clean environment is key in any community. The Amuwo-Odofin local government is currently working with LAWMA for a cleaner environment in the community.
The office of the Director of LAWMA, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni on Tuesday August 25th, 2020 visited the Local Government Secretariat of Amuwo-Odofin LG to meet with the Executive Chairman, Amuwo-Odofin LG, Engr. Dr. Valentine Buraimoh to initiate a partnership that will ensure that Amuwo-Odofin attains a cleaner environment.
The Lawma team Led by the Assistant General Manager, Mr. Sulaiman kemi who represented the Managing Director, LAWMA, familiarized the Valentine Buraimoh with the agenda of the meeting which includes, Sustainability,Synergy between health officers and PSP operators and extinction of operations of cart pushers.
The chairman applauded the pragmatic step by the agency to initiate a meeting with the local government
“It is an understatement if we say this synergy is long overdue. The THEMES Agenda of our Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu which includes a cleaner environment cannot be achieved if all hands are not on deck. To this end, I pledge my commitment to the synergy and will provide all neccessary support to make it fly”, The LG Chairman stated
The meeting agreed that a war should be declared against cart pushers and their operations within the Local Government, residents should be encouraged to patronize PSP operators and an enforcement team to discourage indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the median and roadsides.
