It’s a painful time for the Amuwo-Odofin community as news broke of the passing of Mr. Johnson Macaulay, the beloved husband of Hon. Mojisolaoluwa Alli-Macaulay, former Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1 and current Executive Director, Operations at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).
Mr. Macaulay, fondly called Valashi by friends and associates, passed on in the early hours of Saturday after a brief illness. He was said to have taken ill and was receiving treatment at a hospital around Motorway, Lagos, where he sadly gave up the ghost. He was in his early 50s.
Valashi wasn’t just known as the husband of a prominent figure; he was a man of the people in his own right. A grassroots politician in the Mushin area, he was loved for his humility, dedication, and genuine love for people. Many describe him as approachable, hardworking, and someone who always had a kind word and a helping hand for everyone.
This news has come as a rude shock to many who knew him personally and even those who only heard of his good deeds. Condolence messages have been pouring in for Hon. Mojisolaoluwa Alli-Macaulay and the entire family as they go through this difficult time.
