Amuwo Odofin Youths to Benefit from Empowerment Project

The Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Prince Lanre Sanusi (PLS), has kicked off a new youth empowerment programme designed to give young people in the community the right skills to thrive in today’s world.

The programme, according to the PLS Media Bureau, is part of the chairman’s campaign promises to create opportunities for the teeming youth population in Amuwo Odofin, equipping them with practical, modern-day skills that will help them thrive in an increasingly competitive world.

Speaking at the launch, Prince Sanusi highlighted the importance of youth development in nation-building. He noted that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow but also the driving force of today, and must be provided with the right tools and platforms to achieve their full potential.

The Skill Acquisition Programme will run across different sectors and provide participants with hands-on training in various vocational and entrepreneurial areas. By the end of the training, beneficiaries are expected not only to become self-reliant but also to create jobs and opportunities for others.

Residents who attended the flag-off commended the council boss for focusing on young people, with many describing the initiative as “timely” given the current economic challenges facing the country.

Sanusi further assured that this empowerment scheme is not a one-off project but part of a larger agenda that includes job creation, entrepreneurship support, and continuous skill development.

According to the Local Government Chairman, the launch of this initiative adds to a growing list of people-oriented programmes rolled out under his administration, aimed at improving lives, boosting community development, job creation, and long-term empowerment.
