Residents of Amuwo Odofin Local Government area benefitted over the weekend from the free medical outreach program which took place in the community.
The outreach program took place on Saturday July 28 at the Local government secetariat, Festac Town was put together by the councillor representing ward K Amuwo Odofin, Honourable Adewumi Ogunshina.
The medical fair which had its highlights with free eye screening and general check-up witnessed residents from diffeente wards with the the local government in attendance. Both aged and young people trooped in the venue as early as 6am in their large numbers to seek medical attention.
The councillor while addressing the beneficiaries noted that one of the cardinal points of his manifesto as a councillor is to ensure people within the community enjoy sound health.
He added that he is a strong believer of living a healthy life and he will continue to come up with free health programs during his term in office.
He however observed that alot of people came from different wards to benefit from this health program in which he welcomed all since it is about service to humanity.
According to the councillor, over 500 people benefitted from this free eye screening and general checkup exercise.
While speaking, one of the beneficiaries appreciated the honourable for testing and administering free eye glasses to them as she recounts an instance where she had to pay through her nose to get one until it got missing.
The doctors were also on ground to ensure a lot of people were attended to while Rotaract club of festac and Branca waters were part of the team that supported the program.
