Saturday 1st October 2022 saw a standstill in Amuwo-Odofin as supporters of the Labour Party Presidential Flag bearer, Peter Obi came out en-masse to support his campaign in a state-wide rally defying the early morning rain.
Supporters marched through the community, starting from the meeting point at the FHA field, 23 Road, Festac Town gathering support for the presidential ambition of the former Governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi.
The rally was one of those that were announced to hold in different locations in the state to show support for peter obi and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed.
The rally tagged 4 million-man walk for peter obi was held simultaneously in Ikeja, Surulere, Lekki as well with both labour party members and the OBIdients’ support.
The rally spread through Festac 2nd avenue to 1st avenue to apple junction via the Festac access road, other supporters from various areas such as Ojo, Okota, and Ago also converged at Apple junction.
This caused both vehicular and human traffic, especially around the apple junction axis which is synonymous with daily traffic.
Speaking with a resident, she said “I had to come down from the car at apple junction and trek home as there was no movement around 6 pm, it was hectic.
The youths took the independence day to another level of expression as they dedicated the day to a rally day for the presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
