#AmuwoDecides23: Meet the Candidates Episode1: Hon. Folorunso

As the 2023 election draws very near, in order to allow our community and its residents to make informed decisions, Festaconline Media presents a series: 3 Mins with the candidates where you get to know briefly those who intend to represent us in the forthcoming elections.

Episode 1 features Hon Folorunso Ola, an APC Candidate contesting to represent Amuwo-Odofin in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

My name is Hon. Folorunsho Ola, popularly known as Ola Western, vying to be a member of Lagos state House of Assembly constituency 1, by God’s grace this year.

Why should people vote for you??

For quality representation, and so far so good, I’m competent and understand the terrain very well. In the area of infrastructure, I think I’ve done wonderfully well by supporting other past government officials.

What do you intend to achieve if elected??

One of them is an open door policy to introduce a good feedback mechanism, whereby we engage the people of the community right now even in my campaign movement, I’ve already established a department called Community Engagement, whereby even for my campaign, I involve and engage the community people and when we get to the office, by the special grace of God, we will still continue with this same department community engagement, whereby we get the feedback from the people on what the areas they need government in their community.

You know! one of the major possibilities of a member is to sponsor bills, nevertheless, bringing the state’s presence into my constituency is very very important and also what we regard as oversight functions.

One thing Amuwo is Lacking??

So to say, if Amuwo Odofin is lacking anything, probably I would say more of a state presence in our local government like in the area of road infrastructure, insecurity, and a few things. It’s not that the Lagos state government is not really trying but I think there needs to be someone who needs to add more voice to other people representing us from Amuwo Odofin here whereby more attention from the state and governor will be here. Take for instance, recently, I engaged the state governor on the stage of our road and the way it is.

And to God be the glory as a candidate, the Lagos state approved six roads for rehabilitation for me and they have started work already. If you look at it, you would see that they have almost completed 1st avenue road in festac, as it is today.
