Position Contested and Ward
I am contesting for the position of Councillor in Ward B2, under Amuwo Odofin Local Government.
Background and Experience
Adeogun Aderayo Omolara, who hails from Osun State was born and raised in Lagos. She resides in Abule-Ado, Festac Phase 2, and she is deeply rooted in the community. Omolara holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and International Studies and a Master’s degree in History and Diplomacy from Lagos State University. Over the years, she has been actively involved in community development and grassroots mobilization, driven by a passion for service.
Why Running
In her words
“I am running to give a stronger voice to our people, especially women and the youth, and to ensure that development reaches every corner of Ward B2. I believe in responsive governance, and I am committed to bridging the gap between the people and the local council through transparency, accessibility, and action.”
Top 3 Issues and Her Plans
Infrastructural neglect: Many roads and drainage systems need urgent attention. I will push for targeted LG projects and collaborate with relevant agencies to prioritize infrastructural upgrades.
Youth unemployment and lack of empowerment: I will initiate and support skills acquisition programs, start-up support, and job-linkage platforms to create opportunities for our youth.
Poor community engagement: I will set up regular ward meetings and feedback forums to ensure the people’s voices shape every decision.
Staying Accountable
Through monthly community forums, open-door constituency days, and active use of social media and local groups, I will maintain constant communication. I will also publish quarterly reports to show what has been done, what’s in progress, and what’s next.
