The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area has unveiled its consensus candidates for the Lagos State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The unveiling took place during a party rally in the area, where Folorunsho Olusegun Olaitan, popularly known as Ola Western, was presented as the candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Amuwo-Odofin Constituency I, while Moses Olanrewaju was introduced as the party’s candidate for the House of Representatives seat.
The event marks an early step in the party’s preparations toward the upcoming electoral cycle, with internal alignments already underway ahead of party primaries.
Speaking at the rally, a party leader, Otunba Dotun Adegbola, said the gathering was organised to formally present the candidates and signal the start of political activities leading up to the elections.
He stated that the candidates emerged through a consensus process within the party structure.
In his remarks, Ola Western expressed appreciation to party members for their support and noted his continued engagement with constituents over time.
Moses Olanrewaju, on his part, said his focus would be on legislative representation and collaboration with existing local government efforts if elected.
Party stakeholders at the event also referenced ongoing infrastructure efforts within the local government area, including road projects, as part of broader development discussions.
Also speaking, the APC Women Apex Leader, Alhaja Memunat Ajao, said the adoption of the candidates followed the party’s internal consensus approach and expressed confidence in the party’s preparations ahead of the primaries and general elections.
For residents of Amuwo-Odofin, the unveiling signals the beginning of increased political activity within the constituency as parties begin to position candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
