Authorities To Crackdown On Roadside Trading In Amuwo-Odofin, See Details

The high rate of stalls and shops that have sprung up on walkways, roadsides etc, in Amuwo-Odofin local government has been a huge source of concern to the stability of the community with a focus on Festac Town.

The authorities, The Federal Housing Authority, Amuwo-Odofin local government, and the Lagos state government have decided to restore a bit of sanity to the community.

According to information gathered, From Saturday 17th June 2023, there would be a massive crackdown, demolition and removal of shops, stalls, kiosks and roadside vendors that have occupied the walkways majorly.

There has been a general notice in circulation that prohibits illegal street trading, encroachment and sales of cars on green zones, walkways, vehicle service lanes, bicycle lanes, and illegal structures within the local governmnet.

To ensure this exercise is successful, the concerned authorities have mandated security agencies such as LASTMA, KIA, and the Police to ensure its success while a 72 Hours notice was said to have been given to those concerned.
