Battle of the Sounds 2020: We Got To Know Some Contestants

Battle of the Sounds, The exciting singing competition held in Amuwo-Odofin is back!

We had the privilege to meet with 7 contestants who had been battling for a spot in the ongoing competition. We spoke to a few contestants about their journey with music, their ambitions and their influences.

IBNL

I would love to be be the Next Rated Of The World / Most Streamed music / Best Album 2021 Project. These were the words of Hussien Ibrahim Ademola popularly known as IBNL

His looks up to BurnaBoy and Meek mill, He beleivies that by Speaking The Truth, By Empowering Those Who have talents he would be able to give back to the society.

His Genre of music is Rap / Afro

Kelvin Cee

Okechukwu Kelvin chinonso whose stage name is Kelvin cee is an afropop and trap music artist.

I will focus on my music and work hard on myself to achieve my goals of becoming the next big star in the world not only Nigeria🇳🇬 but the world as a whole, Kelvin Cee shares his aspirations

Davido is one of my favorite Artist in the world, I love him because of his kindness and humanity. I wish to help people and support upcoming artist like he does.

In future when i become a start too, I will build a charity home for the homeless because I know how it is not having a place to sleep after a long day and I also train children in school because I love children very much.

TPHILE

Yakub Ohinoyi, Hip hop & Afro pop artist known as Tphile shares his plan on putting out his EP which is what is next for him after Battle of the sounds competition.

He looks up to AQ – Olamide MI Abaga Davido & I also luv Ricc Hassan while Internationally Jcole is number for me then Kendrick , meek mill & Andree 3k .

I think giving back to the society will be number one for me, bcus the society made me all that I’m, so I’m gonna create a platform where the upcoming can easily get there music heard and also get paid , like spotify or apple music , a platform where upcoming can easily make royalty from there little effort and also I’m have an orphanage home for the less privilege bcus I’m an orphan too, so I know what it means if I give out such opportunitys – TPHILE

WALEXY

Walexey an Afro-Pop artist , Real name is Olaniran Olawale looks to build on his experience at the Battle of the Sounds & continue to showcase what he can do to the world by attending more shows & making people happy with his sound.

He looks up to Wizkid while Globally-Justin Bieber.

Talent Hunt is really a big way to unravel the best of the best from what I’ve seen here so I’ll be making plans for that. Setting up a Label is not a bad idea too but most of all,Those around me shall of course reap of my stardom. [Family, Friends & Fans alike]. Giving to the the less privileged is also a must.

YXNGPRIINCE

Obafemi Prince whose stage name is  Yxngpriince , a Rap artist looks forward to connecting the world with his style of music as to making sure everyone finds a reason to not loose hope/giving up for anything or anyone after the Battle of the sounds.

In Nigeria he looks up to olamide and falz

VIRUS

Olasehinde Gbenga aka Virus a Rap Artist plans on working on anEP/Album to get people familiar with his type of sound after Battle of the sounds competition.

He looks up to Olamide badoo & Davido  while he belives that he can give back to the society by having a system of grooming young talents and a home for the orphanages.

WARZPILOT

Adeoye Abdulwasiu Temitope, an AfroFlex artist right after the battle of the sounds 2020 plans to get more gears for his studio and continue to make more hits for his catalogue.

He aims to be the best songwriter and Record producer outta Africa.

He looks up to Niniola, Adekunle Gold, Wizkid, K-Peace, Wurld and Burna Boy as Role models locally as they serve as guiding lights to his discovery.
Internationally,

My number one goes to Michael Jackson, he’s always been one of the reasons I started music, the king of pop taught me music indirectly at a tender age. Then we have the likes of Chrisbrown, Tory Lanez, Bryson Tiller, Zara Larson and Kendrick Lamar.

Warzpilot plans to give back to the society in the future with a
project he wrote and been working on since uni days called “The Crystal Revolution and Underground Music Inc”.

it’s basically a conglomerate of Record companies meant for Underground Artiste alone, it’s a cycle where they can come and make money if their talents especially for Entertainers and music makers. it’s my dream and it definitely would be the biggest thing that happens to Africa very soon.- WarzPilot
