New Music: BlackFace Drops Own Version Of African Queen

After more than fifteen years of release of “African Queen” by 2Baba Idibia, Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, known popularly as Blackface, has released his own version.

The track which was a major hit in 2004 created bad blood between the former Plantashun Boiz member and his band mates.

Blackface claimed to have composed the song and even demanded its ownership.

It can be recalled that Blackface accuses 2baba of stealing his song “African Queen“, he then decided to let go the acclaimed original version.

According to source, at a recent concert in Festac, both 2baba and Blackface met on stage and called truce to their disagreement.

Even after dropping their differences publicly at a concert at Festac, Lagos, Blackface still decided to cause an uproar with this version he dropped.

Taking to his Instagram page on Sunday, 8th September, Blackface announced that he has released the new track and equally went ahead to share it via same medium.

Blackface promised to stop haunting 2face and drop all allegations against him.

But with the release of Blackface’s version, we wonder if there is still trouble in paradise, The financial and legal implication of this move is yet unknown, but listen to Blackface’s version of African Queen below:

Blackface was a founding member of the Nigerian band Plantashun Boyz that he formed in 2000 with Tuface (also known as 2Baba Idibia) and musician Chibuzor Oji (better known as Faze).
