It is a black Tuesday in the community as five individuals were feared dead along the Ago Palace axis due to a clash between LASTMA officers and a bus driver.
On the 3rd of October, as early as 8:15 a.m., a fatal accident was recorded at Bayo Oyewale Street along Ago Palace Way. The report claimed two LASTMA officers stopped a bus driver and on entering his vehicle to round him up to their station, he tried to outsmart the officers and swerve unto Ago Palace Way.
While in motion, both parties started to contest for the wheel until they lost control and ran into a keke carrying a pregnant woman and her two kids.
Every individual in the Keke except the pregnant woman was proclaimed dead as she was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, on getting to the hospital, she gave up the ghost.
Her husband was alerted and when he got to the hospital and saw the situation of his family, he passed out due to the shock. Youths around that witnessed the incident were furious and expressed their discontent towards the police who in return fired tear gas to ward off agitated civilians.
