It is a black Thursday in the Eko Akete axis of Amuwo-Odofin LGA, Lagos State popularly known as New road as Fire erupts and destroys flats in the area.
According to the source, the fire started at about 1:30 pm and It is said to have been triggered by an electrical issue because the light had been fluctuating all morning from high to low current.
The federal fire service came to the rescue as soon as they could but was not able to put out the fire in time to salvage what was left of the flat, thus two flats were lost to the fire outbreak.
After the fire was quenched by the Fire service, a body was seen to have been burnt beyond recognition. People that lived in other flats were able to tell that it was an elderly woman who lived in the flat where the fire started from.
