5,000 Air-Conditioned Buses to Replace Danfo In Lagos State

Speaking to journalists over the weekend, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos said that his administration, through the proposed Bus Reform Initiative will introduce 5,000 air-conditioned buses that will phase out commercial buses (Danfo) in the state.

Many Homeless As Structures Demolished At Oluti

Some hours ago , at  Adeola street in Oluti, Amuwo Odofin , demolition procedure kicked off and many rendered homeless as Evacuation of illegal occupants, demolition of structures  commenced.

Speaking to a resident , we discovered that The land is said to belong to the Delta state government, but people have encroached on it, living there, some have makeshift structures and some permanent. It appears there is no contesting the ownership of the land.

ASUU May Go On Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) has threatened to embark on a nationwide strike if the Federal Government fails to implement the 2009 agreement it reached with the union.

Dr Theophilus Lagi, the Zonal Coordinator, Abuja Zone of the union, made this known in Abuja on Wednesday .

Good News , the Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, passed a Bill to prohibit forceful entry and illegal occupation of landed properties in the state by Landgrabbers populalry known as Omo Onile.

According to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, after the Bill had gone through the third reading and finally passed by a voice vote of all members present at plenary session, told the acting Clerk of the House, Mr.  Azeez Sanni, to forward a clean copy of the bill to the state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, for his assent.

No More Street Hawking & Trading In Lagos State

Its no new news that the Lagos state government has put a ban to street trading and street hawkers in the metropolis. This also affects traders , and hawkers in festac and Amuwo Odofin Community .
