Recall that we earlier shared the intent of the Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria (JDWAN) to embark on seven days of protest and boycott of services in the state.
The seven-day strike embarked upon by commercial bus drivers in Lagos, Monday, left commuters standing at their bus stops for hours and forced motorcyclists to plug the gap.
Many others have been seen trekking for long distances, at some bus stops only private cars and minibusses (popularly called Korope) were seen picking up passengers.
The situation has left passengers with little or no option for commuting.
Speaking to a resident in Mile2, Mr. Yomi, He lamented on his experience with getting home and that he had to struggle with other commuters to enter available transport mode.
The motorcyclists conveying people from Ijanikin, along the Lagos-Badagry expressway, to Igando, billed their passenger’s enormous amounts.
