In order to curb the further spread of the deadly Coronavirus , Covid-19 in Nigeria, a total Lock down has been set for 3 major cities by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
This Lockdown came into effect after the President , Muhammadu Buhari addressed the entire country.
He instructed in his speech,
“All citizens in these areas are to stay in their homes” starting from 2200 GMT on Monday.
“Travel to or from other states should be postponed. All businesses and offices within these locations should be fully closed during this period.”- Muhammadu Buhari
This order takes effect from 11pm Monday, 30th March 2020 which would last for an initial period of 14 days.
As at this time of writing, Nigeria has recorded a total of 111 confirmed cases out of the very few that have been tested.
The lock-down restriction exempts hospitals, food shops and petrol stations which access will be restricted and monitored.
Recall that there was a Mini-Lock-down which was a restriction of movement earlier in the Month by the Lagos State government.
