The Festival Town Residents Association, FTRA, held its Quarterly General meeting on Saturday 21st September 2019 which held at YWCA, 24 Road, Festac town, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos State.

Present at the meeting were LG Chairman, House Of Assembly member representing Amuwo-odofin constituency 1, FTRA Executives, residents and stakeholders.

During the meeting, residents aired their views with various contributions, observations and suggestions.

Mrs Adeosun, an Executive Member of Community 2 , requested for the attention of the Executive Chairman of the local government, Comrade Valentine Buraimoh,on the deplorable state of Festac roads and on urgent need for the government to improve on the environmental degradation within the community.

In response, the chairman explained the degree to which works have advanced on the various areas of residents’ needs which are begging for development in Festac Town.

A major concern was the deplorable state of 512 road as brought up by the Chairman of 512 road and Mr Tunde Ajayi, a resident of 512 road in Community 2, who expressed worries of the residents of 512 road to the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, as the road has been neglected by successive governments both at the state and local government levels, for many years.

In his response, the Executive Chairman of the local government appealed to the residents, especially those of 512 road, to exercise patience, and also reminding them that there are other roads in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, aside Festac, which need the attention of the government for both construction and rehabilitation.

Dr Kokobili, a member of Community 2 , and others also expressed their minds on matters of environmental and peaceful coexistence within the estate.

Also Alhaja Fowora advised members on Environmental issues.

Mr Sola Fakorede, the President of the Association assured them that he and the Executive Members of the Association will continue to appeal to the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area to ensure that the government continues to play its statutory roles to the residents of Festac Town.
