Power Outage has seemed to come to stay in the community , Festac in Amuwo-Odofin LGA, Lagos State,Nigeria.
Residents have lamented ,complained and are not happy with the current situation.
The 311 Road area of the community as well as other adjoining roads in Festac Town, Lagos, have been shut off electricity Supply according to residents. This has been happening for more than 2 weeks.
Speaking to a resident of 311,
There is a major damage to a feeder supplying the area and adjoining areas and nothing has been done about this.We have complained severally to the Eko Electricity Distribution Company, EKEDC, and till now no response or action taken. Its Sad.
According to Vanguard, Mr. Falana Ibrahim, the marketer responsible for the area, has expressed his concern on the situation as he must meet the target set for him by his employers, even when consumers are without supply.
The area has been complaining of irregular supply for a long time, even before the feeder cable was damaged. Last June, the area had no power supply for three weeks following a car accident that led to the collapse of electric poles along 31 Road.
In July, when electricity supply was denied the area for over three weeks, the EKEDC electricity bills, rather than come down, were higher than previous months. – Mr Ibrahim
