Festac Schools Get Visited By Amuwo LGA Officials

Two major primary schools in Festac town, Amuwo Odofin finally got the attention of the Local Government.

On the 5th March 2018, a visitation by a team of Amuwo-Odofin led by the supervisor for Education, Hon. Prince (Capt).Adebayo. K. Dosunmu accompanied by other executives and members including Hon. Hammed Mohammed, Councillor Ward ‘C’ .

The schools visited are 5th Avenue Central Primary Schools & 5th Avenue Primary Schools , school 9 & 5 respectively.

According to our source, the Purpose of the Visitation is to ascertain the Current Challenges Confronting the two Primary Schools (Sch.3 &9).

Some challenges such as Condition of Class-rooms and Administrative offices, Sanitation; lack of Toilets etc, Security and Safety Conditions of the Primary School Environment,  Inadequate Provision, Motivation and Welfare of Teaching, Non-Teaching Staff (Cleaners etc.) and Pupils, Inadequate provision of Teachers and Cleaners in the Special Education Class and Lack of Uniforms for Special Education Pupils at 5th Avenue Central Primary School (Sch 9), Inadequate Provision of Learning and Teaching Materials at 5th Avenue Central Primary School.

 

In the process of the Visitation, the Entourage met with Mrs Kassim, Head Teacher, 5th Avenue Central Primary School, Mrs Bunmi Odueyungbo, Head Teacher, Resource Centre, 5th Avenue Central Primary School, Mrs. Majero and Mrs. Salami, both are Teachers at Special Education Class, 5th Avenue Central Primary School(Sch.9) and Mrs. Iwu, Head Teacher, 5th Avenue Primary School(Sch.3) Amuwo Odofin LGA.

During the visitation, gifts such as stockings were presented to Pupils of Special Education Class at 5th Avenue Central Primary School, Festac Town by Hon. Hammed Mohammed, Councillor Ward ‘C’ Amuwo Odofin LGA.

Hope was resurrected as the supervisor for education, Adebayo .K. Dosunmu,assured the 5th Avenue Central Primary School(Sch.9) and 5th Avenue Primary School (Sch.3) Authority of a Favourable Response from Engr. Valentine Oluwaseyi Buraimoh, Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin LGA.
