Four Popular Markets Shutdown In Amuwo-Odofin Due to Non-Compliance

Four popular markets in the Amuwo-Odofin LGA has been shut down and sealed due to non-compliance with COVID19 safety protocol measures.

The markets affected are Agboju market, 2nd avenue Festac Town, Oyinlola Market, 23 Road Festac Town, Aroso market, Mile2, and the Olatanwa market, 4th avenue, Festac Town.

The shutdown and closure of the markets was ordered and enforced by the local government taskforce teamon Monday July 20th 2020.

Recall that the local government chairman had a meeting recently with market leaders on the importance of safety measures to be enforced due to the widespread and high transmission of the coronavirus in the Amuwo-Odofin local government area, Lagos state.

The markets are being shutdown due to the fact that they are not complying with given standards. The measure is being taken to ensure enforcement

We have shut down the four markets from today so they know the seriousness of the government in protecting lives of its citizens from the Coronavirus wave.

After the shutdown we await the market leaders to take these seriously and there would be strict compliance and agreements before the markets would be reopen.
