The Lagos State Government has announced a reduction in train wait times for the Blue Line Rail service connecting Mile 2 to Marina, cutting down delays and ensuring trains arrive more frequently. The trains would operate every 10 minutes reducing transit time to just 10 minutes which has reduced commuting time by 8minutes
According to a press statement by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, the reduction in train headway will save commuters about 44 per cent in time and improve overall journey experience.
With the new schedule, Blue Line trips will increase to 90 from the current 72 on Mondays through Saturdays, while Sunday trips remain unchanged at 22.
This development is a huge relief for thousands of passengers who rely on the rail line daily especially those around Amuwo-Odofin, FESTAC, and Ago Palace Way, where traffic congestion is a daily battle.
The new schedule means commuters can expect shorter intervals between trains, improved efficiency, and less overcrowding during peak hours.
Lagos officials say the adjustment is part of their commitment to boost public transportation, ease gridlock on major roads, and make the Mile 2–CMS–Marina axis more accessible.
