As the 2023 Elections are around the corner, a group by the name National Voters Drive Coalition (NVDC) has taken up the responsibility of educating Amuwo-Odofin Residents and also Lagosians across the 20 Local government areas on why they should pick their Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) and why they must come out to vote for their candidate of choice.
In doing the group has been involved in grassroots education and using the media for sensitization of residents alongside incentivizing the process via free medical screening.
The National Voters Drive Coalition (NVDC), a group of non-partisan non-governmental organizations was formed to improve voter engagement in Nigeria.
Organizations within this coalition are African Primary Healthcare Foundation (APHF); Nigerian Physicians Advocacy Group (NPAG); ReadytoLeadAfrica (RTLA); Progressive Abia Youths (PAY); SHIFT Nigeria and The Compatriots (TC).
According to the representative, In the last two weeks, the group and its volunteers have impacted more than 3000 persons with free medical screening and drug supplies. 11 LGAs have benefited from this initiative.
In the coming weeks from December 28, 2022, the group plans to be in the following LGAs in strategic locations; Agege, Lagos Island, Badagry, Ojo, Surulere, Shomolu, Epe, Oshodi Isolo, Apapa
