1.Always Fuel-Up
Its Important to always have extra Fuel supply in your car should in case the traffic gets out of hands.
2. Beat Timing
Timing is very important when trying to escape the terrible neck-choking traffic.
Its important to avoid the following times.
In the Morning 7am – 8am and in the evenings 5:30pm – 7:30pm. At these times , heavy usage of the bridge occurs by pedestrians and vehicular movements.
So if at the bridge at these times you are 90% prone to be stuck in Traffic.
3. Have a Traffic Car Buddy
If driving. it is most times advisable to have someone with you in the car. There are different scenarios where they come in handy.
Maybe when your fuel gets exhausted or something else occurs.
4. Patience
Well patience is very key o! we discovered that 90% of traffic caused on the bridge is by impatience both from okada riders and vehicle owners.
Sometimes, you get to see three lanes on the incoming lane into Festac Town which of course would cause a major traffic and no one wants to fall out.
5. Water
It is advisable to always have a bottle of water with you if driving during these traffic prone times stated above as you might get dehydrated.
6. Security Conscious
The traffic at the Link bridge might get serious and heated and some miscreants usually use these opportunity to steal from car owners and even pedestrians.
A lady got her bag snatched from here while she was stuck up in the traffic in a Keke Maruwa, she couldn’t do anything about it .
Also sometimes, your car would get hit badly by another car or even okada. If possible ignore.
7. Traffic Officials
Most times, at these times, there are always traffic officials on the bridge. Note o! Traffic Officials not Security Officials.
there have been times that they have caused traffic due to arguments with impatient drivers,unruly drivers etc.
Most times just obey them so that traffic doesn’t build up.
8. Take a Walk
Driving if possible can be reduced to certain days you cant do without your car.
Sometimes park your car and use public transport. These would reduce the number of vehicular movements on the bridge and therefore less traffic.
Of recent most people park their cars at certain locations close to the bridge and utilize public transport either coming in or going out.
9. Avoid the Route.
If all else fails, avoid the Festac Link Bridge and use the alternative routes into Festac Town and Out of Festac Town.
