The General Manager of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, alongside the Agency’s Director, (Zonal Directorates), Mr. Abiodun Ogunleye, conducted an inspection visit to the new Amuwo Odofin Zonal Office which is under construction .
The visit was aimed at assessing the progress of the work done. When completed, the project is expected to enhance LASEPA’s operational efficiency in the region and further its mission of ensuring a safer and cleaner environment through monitoring and standard regulations compliance.
Dr Ajayi reiterated LASEPA’s commitment to establishing fully functional and accessible Zonal Offices across Lagos State to decentralize environmental protection monitoring activity and bring government services closer to the people.
“This office will enhance our capacity for environmental monitoring, compliance, and swift response to environmental concerns within the Amuwo Odofin area and beyond.”
Following his inspection at Amuwo Odofin, Dr. Ajayi proceeded to Agege Zonal Office for similar inspection and engaged with the staff on possible operational challenges and strategies for improving service delivery.
He emphasized LASEPA’s commitment to equipping zonal offices with the necessary resources and support to build staff capacity for greater productivity on monitoring and environmental protection across the State.
