Loral is a school with set standards , an exceptional school in Festac. Loral International Schools concluded its 4th Edition of its annual Beauty and Brains beauty pageant which was held in the school premises in Festac Town, Lagos.
The competition was open for Loral students in junior secondary three to senior secondary. At the end , there were 12 contestants and out of which the youngest contestant clinched the crown of Miss Loral 2015, which stand for beauty, boldness and intelligence.
It was wonderful and successful event as in attendance were Emmanuel Ikubese,the current Mr. Nigeria , Miss Onwunma ,the Outgoing Queen, Miss Loral and more dignitaries. The Pageant was professionally organised like any other pageant such as Miss Nigeria, Miss World.

Mrs Ezinne Maria Uzuegbunam , the senior principal of the Loral International schools explained that the contest has been in existence from memorial and inception. She also explained that it is through a selection process like this that a certain Jewish maiden, Esther won the Royal crown in the Biblical narrative.
“Today, we hear of Miss Nigeria, Miss World, Miss Universe. They all emerged through this similar process we are embarking on now”
The panel of judges comprised of men and women with great experience on the job which gave the competition a more corporate and professionally acceptable competition.
The pageant had stage appearances and performances by the contestants , They were given opportunity to appear in their different attires. The contestants made different artistic performances out of which special prizes were given to the best traditional attire and best evening gown. The contestants who were finally taken through question and answer routine .

At the end of the competition , Miss. Uma Miracle emerged the winner of the contest. Miss Uma’s victory made a record as the crown was finally taken from the Onwunma family which had produced the first queen, Perpetual Onwunma in 2008 and the outgoing queen, Chiamaka Onwunma and the third, Anuli Onwunma vying for the throne but slightly missed it as she finished with the Second Runner Up while the First Runner Up went to Miss Chidinma Igwe.

The winner of the contest, Miracle smiled home with a giant washing machine, the Second and First Runner Up went home with Tabletop refrigerator and 32 inches plasma television, respectively.
The competition sought for a rare combination of beauty and brain, Sieving the fine from the coarse.
As they say , beauty is in the eyes of the beholder but this time around the brains are involved. At Loral International Schools, the management has a strong belief that brain and beauty go together and that the belief is anchored on the school’s solid academic foundation which it offers to its students.
Emmanuel Ikubese, charged the contestants to always carry their education along in their pursuit of their talent as it helps in their career ladder and appreciated the school’s initiative of encouraging brain and beauty
“Whatever aspect of your talent you want to pursue in life, always carry your education along because it plays important role in you getting to the climax of your chosen profession”– He advised.
Miss Uma spoke to Thisday thankful to God for her victory , revealing that she was reluctant initially in joining the competition
“Initially I did not want to participate but was persuaded by my teachers who told me that I have what it takes to be the next Miss Loral and that with determination and support from my parents, I ventured into it and here I am crowned as the Loral Queen, 2015,” Uma said.

The 14-year old queen who hails from Abia state wishes to study medicine as her future career and added that she would use her position to be a good role model, eradicate low esteem among girls, and encourage them to showcase their talent whenever opportunity beckons.
The event, enjoyed massive support from both individuals and corporate organisation, was sponsored by establishments like Zenith Bank, Domino Pizza, Rockview Hotel, Testy Fried Chicken, Tantalizers Plc among others.
