In the early hours of July 7th 2022, a man hole cover thief was nabbed in the Amuwo-Odofin Community, Lagos State.
The culprit was seen at about 4am at the 5th Avenue, Festac town axis with a crowbar at hand being beaten by the security around the area.
According to one of the Bike riders who claimed he caught the thief,
he just returned from his journey from Okokomaiko, to get some rest when he noticed movement ahead of him, he switched his bike light off to avoid being seen and slowly traced the culprit.
Unfortunately the culprit bent overhead of a manhole and tugged at it with his crowbar but it did not bulge.
The bike man and two others followed him for a bit before getting a hold of him and he swung his tool in attempt to ward off his captors but to no avail and then he was caught.
He was dragged back to the place he tried to steal from, turning out that the previous day, one was removed the front of the same close, so all of their anger was channeled towards the culprit.
When asked, the culprit claimed he was a mechanic at 7th Avenue, saying it was his first time doing such and that he was returning from Agboju and going to his workshop at that point in time before he was caught.
