The streets of Amuwo-Odofin were electric on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 as the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held a high-energy mega rally to round off its campaign ahead of the forthcoming local government elections in Amuwo.
With chants of solidarity and party-themed music blaring from speakers, supporters thronged the rally ground in their numbers, transforming the event into a sea of blue and white APC’s official colors.
The event, held at Apple Junction axis of Amuwo-Odofin, was attended by top APC officials, party faithful, youth groups, market women, and community stakeholders, all rallying support for the party’s chairmanship and councillorship candidates in the LGA.
Attending the rally in support of the Candidate were notable APC leaders, including Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, a member of the party’s influential Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Alhaja Memunat Ajao, the APC Apex Leader in Amuwo Odofin, whose presence further reinforced the weight of party unity and grassroots mobilization, Former House of Reps member Hon. Oghene Oboh, Commissioner for Special Duties Hon. Gbenga Oyerinde, Executive Director (operations) NSITF Hon. Mojisola Macaulay, House of Assembly member representing Amuwo Odofin constituency II Hon.Wale Rauf, Outgoing Council Chairman, Engr. Dr. Valentine Oluseyi Buraimoh,Former House of Assembly member and Chairman of the Mega Rally Prince Sultan Adeniji Adele, Former Vice Chairman and Chief of Staff to the council chairman Hon. Idris Abubakar, APC House of Assembly Candidate in the 2023 general elections and chairman Mobilization committee Hon. Ola Folorunsho, and many party leaders, Excos, Faithfuls and candidates.
Chairman of the Lagos State APC, Cornelius Ojelabi, hailed the people of Amuwo-Odofin for their loyalty and enthusiasm, emphasizing that the APC remains the most reliable platform for sustainable grassroots development.
“We are not just a political party; we are a movement of progress. The APC has delivered in Lagos and will continue to do so in Amuwo-Odofin. What we need now is your vote — and your belief,” Ojelabi told the cheering crowd.
Also present was Hon. Bayo Balogun, a member of the House of Representatives, who called on residents to vote for competence, continuity, and community-centered leadership. He praised the party’s candidates and reassured constituents of stronger representation and increased development under APC leadership.
Amuwo-Odofin APC Chairmanship candidate Prince Lanre Sanusi also addressed supporters, sharing a vision focused on improved infrastructure, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance.
“We are ready to serve — not to rule. Our plans are rooted in the real needs of our people, and by God’s grace, we will deliver on every promise,” the candidate said passionately.
The rally was peaceful but energetic, with tight security presence to manage the large turnout. Key roads experienced brief diversions as party supporters marched through popular streets, drumming up last-minute support ahead of the polls.
As the campaign season draws to a close, the APC urged residents to vote en masse and uphold the party’s legacy of development, unity, and responsive leadership.
