Three Men Nabbed For Stealing A Car In Festac Town

Car theft has been a common crime in Lagos state, Nigeria.

Earlier this month on May 2nd 2019, three men Yusuf Ezekiel (36), Onyekachi Onuoha (42) and Ibrahim Aliu (37) allegedly stole a car in Festac Town valued at about 2.5 Million Naira.

The car was stolen at about 10:30am at 32 Road, House 9 by 322 Junction, Festac Town, Lagos.

According to the police prosecutor, Superintendent Gabriel Ekundayo , the stolen vehicle with registration number MUS 831 DQ belonged to Jennda Forts Academy.

The alleged offences, he said, are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges when appeared at the Apapa Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

The Chief Magistrate Mukaila Fadeyi granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 with one surety in like sum.

The surety is required to furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till June 4, 2019 for mention.
