Today’s attention is directed to one of Amuwo Odofin’s fast-rising artists, Edobor David Osarienme aka King Iced. He was born and bred in Festac Town. He started music out of the need to escape reality on his own terms.

What over here in Festac inspires your music? Growing up, FESTAC has always been the hub for entertainment in Lagos. I look up to artists like 2face, Sound Sultan and in recent times, Ycee. As someone from Benin City Nigeria, i am also fascinated by rich culture and how FESTAC started. The mask has been a symbol of FESTAC since its creation in 1977.
How did you start music? “I started singing cause I had a bad experience in secondary school, and it was an escape from reality at the time, and I learned to make beats so I could express myself better.”
Newest release? This is exclusive, I have a song with one of Festac’s finest, who is killing it as an independent artist. The song is called Feelings, and it’s for the Nonchalant lovers.
KingIced also doubles as a producer, producing some of his songs himself, and the very popular Magic Fufu by Famous Pluto
