NDLEA operatives stopped a shocking attempt in Okota where a 50-year-old widow, for allegedly trying to traffic cocaine with a fake pregnancy belly.
Madam Ifeoma, a mother of one, who many know as the owner of Golden Star Creation, a fashion outfit in Ago Palace Way, thought she had found a smart way to move 1.3kg of cocaine to Abuja customers by disguising herself as a heavily pregnant woman. Unfortunately for her, sharp-eyed NDLEA officers caught her at a Jibowu bus terminal in Yaba last Friday.
Officers ran a follow up operation at her house in Okota, where they reportedly found an extra 200 grams of a cutting agent material used to process cocaine.
According to NDLEA’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, Ifeoma confessed that she “inherited” the drug business from her late husband, who died two years ago, even though she’s been into fashion design for over 20 years.
But that’s not all! NDLEA officers also intercepted 90 parcels of Loud (a strong type of cannabis) weighing 48.6kg, cleverly hidden inside cartons of kitchen sinks imported from the United States.
The agency says it won’t relent in fishing out traffickers, whether they hide drugs in fake pregnancies or kitchen sinks.
