The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives raided a high-profile Lagos-based cocaine syndicate where large consignments of the class A drug meant for export and local distribution were recovered.
The syndicate was said to be headed by a couple Agbakoba John Mmadu and Agbakoba Ijeoma Chinwe as well as their associate, Okoye Ifeoma Maryjane.
After months of surveillance and intelligence gathering, Mr Agbakoba John was arrested at Ago Palace way, while his wife and associate who doubles as their stash keeper were nabbed at Plot 2205, Eugene Ndubisi close, Lilly Estate, Amuwo Odofin on the 3rd of July, 2024.
Recovered were seven parcels of cocaine with a total weight of 7.652kg at Ago Palace Way and not less than 122 compressed pellets of cocaine weighing 2.42kg from Lilly Estate, bringing to a total of 10.1kg valued at over 2.1 billion in street value.
