A visit to the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), FESTAC Town Office,is no longer boring and annoying as there is now a new experience.
Applicants to obtain new passports or to renew old ones, will henceforth, experience a cozy environment; courtesy of the new-look lounge upgraded for the Service by Unity Bank Plc as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
At a ceremony to formally hand over the lounge to Nigeria Immigration Service, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Unity Bank, Mrs. Tomi Somefun, represented by the Executive Director South, Mr. Temisan Tuedor, said that the upgrade of the facility was informed by the need to provide conducive ambiance for numerous stakeholders that visit the Centre for one service or the other.
“For us at Unity Bank Plc, it is about extending our service to the public hence we observed the need to intervene by providing quality ambiance for the NIS Lounge with the hope that it will impact the public meaningfully”, he said.
Mrs. Somefun expressed appreciation to the Management of the NIS, FESTAC Town for providing the platform and noted that it was the bank’s desire to continue to partner government on other touch points that could impact on the communities in which the operate.
The Assistant Comptroller General of the NIS in charge of Zone 2, I. Y. Ahmad commended Unity Bank for upgrading the facility to enhance NIS service quality to numerous applicants.
He called on other corporate bodies to emulate the Bank’s example. The commissioning of the facility, according to Unity Bank is in line with the Bank’s CRS objectives of lending its support to programmes and projects which could assist in uplifting residents and host communities.
