Oriade LCDA was among the three LG that won the 2021 Cleanest community award in Lagos State.
The 2021 sanitation competition which held amongst local government and local council development areas in Lagos state saw to Oriade LCDA coming tops.
The event which held on the 24th December 2021 at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Ikeja was hosted by the Lagos state Ministry of the environmental and water resources.
They gathered recepients from the various LGS to witness those that would be going home with awards and prizes
Tunji Bello, Commisioner for environmnet and water resources says the cleaner lagos initiative has gone a long way to keeping the state clean and the LG Authorities have implemented their consitituional responsibilities which is one of the basic functions.
Ibrahim Odumboni, Managing director, LAWMA assured the people of carrying out their responsibility promptly and to see more support and making sure the environmnet is consitenly clean.
In a goodwill message, the Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Hon Sesan Daini, appreciated the gesture behind the awards, saying it would witness a more robust participation next year.
Also speaking, the Managing director of LAWMA Ibrahim Odumboni said his agency was involved in the grading process of the competition and he can testify that the result is very fair.
Winners emerged in different categories with Surulere LGA, Epe LGA and Oriade LCDA won the cleanest Local Governments and LCDA in the Metropolitan, Urban and Sub-Urban categories respectively.
The three Councils won a plaque and a branded Suzuki mini bus each .
Prizes were also give to the cleanest market, cleanest Motor park, cleanest local council headquarters and the cleanest Primary Health care centre.
