Residents of Amuwo-Odofin and neighbouring areas have been advised to exercise caution as the annual Oro festival rites commence in Iba, Ojo LGA close to the Lagos State University (LASU) campus.
The Oniba of Iba, Oba (Dr.) Sulaimon Adeshina Raji-Ashade, revealed that this year’s observances will take place during the day on workdays, a departure from the usual evening schedule.
In a notice to its staff and students, LASU management confirmed that the festival will span nine days, beginning Monday between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., with follow-up activities expected throughout the period.
The university urged the community to plan their movements carefully, a message that is equally important for Amuwo residents who live or commute near Iba and the surrounding areas.
“People living in Amuwo and adjoining neighbourhoods should be mindful of traffic disruptions and ceremonial activities during the festival period,” Festaconline News Media sources noted.
