On the 21st of October, Honourable, Stella Foluke Osafile played host to women in Amuwo Odofin as a forum was held in honor of creating a chance for women to participate in the political affairs of the community.
The forum, tagged “Empowering Women in Politics” was centered on the women participation in politics and leadership, driving a decision making opportunity to be ignited in the Amuwo Odofin community.
During the procession of the conference, Dr Suleman proposed an advisory group where everyone in attendance contributed to a robust discussion on the importance of empowering women in politics and governance, also to help gather critical constituency information and address the needs of the community.
Honorable Stella Foluke said, “As a legislator, everything that has been said, we have been able to collate. It is for us to enact laws that would facilitate the commencement. I am not saying I am building it but we enact a law, we move motions and policies that would better allow all the things asked for to be activated (skill acquisition, having centers for the disabled people, making sure that public spaces are PWD (People With Disabilities) enhanced and enabled. And we are being able to monitor its implementation.”
Amongst all the invited stakeholders, notable speakers in attendance included Dr. Lami, Barrister, Dr. Efe, Dr. Suleiman. Dr. Suleiman also encouraged Hon. Osafile to maintain open communication with her constituents.
