Saturday 16th November was one to remember as Outreach Women and children Hospital Festac observed World Prematurity Day 2019.
17th of November is known globally as World prematurity day , a day set aside by global health bodies raise awareness of challenges and burden of preterm care.
Outreach hospital Festac marked this year World Prematurity Day with a health walk around Festac town and its environs creating awareness around prematurity issues.
it was a great day as they came out in their numbers to celebrate with the preterm.
The day kicked off with a an aerobics session and the health awareness walk which started from 4th avenue, Festac town and later ended back at Outreach Hospital where it all began.
The awareness walk saw to a large number of participants from staff , volunteers, parents and residents.
Later that day, a preterm party for its preterm graduates was held at the Frank kids event center, Festac town, a party to host children and parents who came out in their numbers.
There were various activities held such as a lecture given by Dr Efunbo Dosekun, CEO Outreach Hospital who stressed that fact that the burden of prematurity might be more in developing countries like Nigeria.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to partner hospitals and gifts from sponsors to the graduate preterm babies alongside their parents.
