The celebration of Engr Valentine Buraimoh second year in office was a colourful long week of events.
DAY 1- Monday, 19th 2019
The one week celebration programme to commemorate the 2nd year tenure of the Executive Chairman commenced with the presentation of a world class theatre bed to the Mother and Child Center, First Gate, Festac Town.
The Chairman promised to also provide the Hospital with a Utility vehicle.
The free fibroid surgery as pledged by the Executive Chairman, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh for indigent residents commenced at the Mother and Child Center of which as at Day 1 , 5 successful surgeries were already carried out, out of the 30 beneficiaries of the program.
Next in line was the flag off of the free medical mission at the secretariat where the chairman advised residents to take advantage of the event to know their health status.
Also on Day one management staffs of the local government were presented with official vehicles
The Head of Administration, Builder Stephen Akitoye thanked the chairman for his exemplary style of leadership and commitment to improved staff welfare.
DAY 2 – Tuesday, 20th 2019
Day 2 highlight was the One-day executive chairman duty tour. Miss Taiwo Quadri, of Unity Primary School, Mile 2 who was the overall winner of the 2019 Spelling Bee quiz competition for the primary category was selected as this years one-day candidate.
Miss Taiwo was chaperoned into the Local Government Secretariat in the comforts of the official SUV vehicle of the executive chairman Amuwo-Odofin Local Government.
The parents and siblings of Taiwo Quadri were part of the party that witnessed the historical event.
The newly renovated blocks of classrooms in the following schools, Unity Primary School, Mile 2, Newtown Nursery and Primary School, Festac and Ideal Nursery and Primary School, Festac were commissioned.
As part of the activities marking the 2nd year of the tenure of Engr. Buraimoh was road commissioning
The 900 meters rehabilitated portion of the 1st avenue axis of Festac town which is a major link road into and exit of Festac with over hundred of thousands motorist taking advantage of it as an alternative route from Lagos Oshodi Expressway to link Alakija on the Lagos Badagry Expressway was commissioned and opened to motorist.
Another activity that marked the celebration was the official opening of the Agidimo road, a one kilometer road in Mile 2 Estate.
There was also a Foundation laying ceremony of the proposed ultramodern primary health center and present was Rev MCA, Iwunze, General Overseer of Love Base Assembly, Festac, the former Executive Chairman, Alhaji Otolorin ans others.
DAY 4
Engr. Valentine Buraimoh’s led administration had a breakfast meeting with captains of industries at De Santiago Milan Hotel and Suites, Mile 2 axis of Amuwo-Odofin LGA.
Also at the event was the Award of recognition presented to some Captains of Industries for their Corporate Social Responsibility projects within Amuwo-Odofin LG.
The recipients were Engr. A.O Kamal (CEO A.O KAMAL AND COMPANY), Alhaji Ladi Mohammed (CEO GLOBAL MAAK SERVICES LTD), Mr. Ola Folorunsho (CEO WESTERN CONCRETES) amongst others.
The awardees upon receiving their awards promised to collaborate with the local government on laudable projects while other captains of industries gave assurance of their continuous support to the development of the Local Government.
Also on Day 4 , beneficiaries of the Free Fibroid operations which took place at the Mother& Child Center Festac town were paid a courtesy visit by the chairman.
It was all a display emotions as the beneficiaries who had just emerged from the success of the surgery operations could not contain the joy they felt as tears of appreciation flowed freely from their faces.
The Mayor was also allowed into the theatre room by the medical team to witness the last operation for the day.
Day 6 – 25th, August, 2019
The week long event was gradually coming to an end but wasnt concluded without adding Sports activities and encouraging health living .
On Saturday was the Sports day which held at the Crystal Estate play ground in Mile 2.
There were several activities such as ludo, draft, Scrable et al, of which the highlight was the novelty match between public political office holders and Civil Servant. The game was won with six goals to one.
To end the long week of celebration an Iconic Town Hall Meeting programme was held where the chairman presented his account of Stewardship to the electorate.
