The popular 1st avenue road which sees to heavy influx of traffic from those leaving and coming into Festac Town has been long overdue for a repair especially the part opposite Coldstone & fidelity bank.
Recently, the LG spearheaded a rehabilitation of a portion of 1st avenue .
The portion was closed but has now been officially opened to motorists and road users.
According to information from the LG ,
The section rehabilitated by Western Concrete Construction Company spanned from 1st Gate, to 11 road junction.
The rehabilitation work on the road was carried out using two approaches; spot patching and Clearing of drainage’s carried out from 1st gate to the foot of the Link Bridge, while the second approach was laying of interlocking bricks and engaging emergency rescue agency to evacuate silt from the underground drainage to allow free flow of waste water into the canal.
Addressing residents and motorist who witnessed the opening of the road; the Executive Chairman in his statement said;
“My passion is to ensure that I deliver on promise made to Amuwos by providing infrastructures that will make living and doing business in Amuwo Odofin Local Government stress free.”
We await other road rehabilitation as well.
