It was much more than a new dawn in Amuwo Odofin as the community witnessed a moment of great historical significance as Oba Oluwatoyin Obasola Adeniyi Tayo became the new traditional ruler in the community.
The coronation which held on the 14th August 2025 in the Festac Town axis of the community , saw to a large gathering of traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and jubilant residents who came together to witness a milestone event described by many as “the beginning of a new chapter in the community.”
Oba Oluwatoyin, who now assumes the revered throne as the custodian of the community’s heritage, pledged to work tirelessly for the peace and prosperity of his people.
The event was graced by taditional rulers and the joyous sons and daughters of Amuwo Odofin, offering prayers and blessings for the new Oba’s reign. Cultural associations, market leaders, and youth groups also made presentations, underscoring the broad community support for his leadership.
The installation marks a significant turning point for Amuwo Odofin, a fast-growing urban hub in Lagos State known for its blend of tradition and modernity. Residents expressed optimism that the new monarch’s reign would usher in an era of inclusive growth, peace, and cultural pride.
