The Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Prince Lanre Sanusi (PLS), has shown his commitment to building a cleaner and healthier community as he personally led a massive environmental sanitation exercise across key areas in Amuwo Odofin over the past few days.

Joined by the Vice Chairman, councilors, council manager, Community Development Committee (CDC) Secretary Evangelist Raphael Ogunjobi, and other stakeholders, Prince Sanusi spearheaded the clean-up operation which stretched from the Mile 2 link bridge through First Gate, 2nd Avenue, 202 and 203 Roads, 3rd Avenue Junction, 206 Road, Agboju Market, and 22 Road down to the Local Government Secretariat.
The exercise involves clearing refuse, removing illegal roadside trading spots, and restoring order to some of the busiest routes in the area.

Prince Sanusi describes the move as a direct response to residents’ concerns about the poor state of the environment. He assured that Amuwo Odofin would no longer remain untidy, warning roadside traders not to return to cleared spaces or face stiff penalties.
He further revealed that the environmental sanitation campaign would run for 30 days, with trained security personnel deployed to maintain order. “This is about restoring the pride of Amuwo Odofin. Our people deserve clean roads, safe markets, and an environment they can be proud of,” he stated.

He also used the opportunity to encourage residents without voters cards to register ahead of the 2027 general elections. He equally called for strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that continuity in leadership at all levels would accelerate development.
The Vice Chairman described Prince Sanusi as “a visionary leader who listens to the people and delivers results” and urged residents to cooperate with the council to sustain cleanliness.

CDC Secretary, Evangelist Ogunjobi, also applauded the initiative, describing it as long overdue while praising the chairman for raising the bar of leadership in Amuwo Odofin.

The 30-day environmental sanitation drive is expected to significantly transform Amuwo Odofin’s outlook, restore order to its roads and markets, and improve the quality of life for residents under the purposeful leadership of Prince Lanre Sanusi.
