President Muhammadu Buhari paid a visit to the Amuwo-Odofin community on Thursday 8th September 2022.
The visit was to unveil and commission the new naval ultra modern sports facility in Navy Town, Amuwo-Odofin.
Buhari who was in Amuwo, declared open the 12th edition of the Nigerian Navy Games alongside Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo.
President Buhari assured Nigerians that the armed forces would continue to sustain their operational tempo to contain the security challenges in the country.
The President also re-emphasized the importance of synergy between the armed forces, other security agencies and the general population for peace and security.
Also gracing the event was the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu, and he gave his goodwill message describing Nigerian Navy as a strategic partner to the ‘‘coastal State of Lagos’’ on security of lives and property.
On the ultra-modern Complex is equipped with the state-of-the-art indoors sporting equipment, a world class gymnasium, swimming pool and a standard football pitch as well as tracks for athletics events.
