Commuters, residents who often ply the Mile 2-Badagry expressway braved up to the streets yesterday Monday May 20th 2019 defying the early downpour.
The protest which was a peaceful one so to those who regularly commute on that axis calling on relevant authorities for immediate intervention.
Areas such as Badagry round about , Agbara, AOCOED GATE Oto-Awori, Igbo-Elerin Junction, Front of LASU Gate, and Trade fair (under the bridge).
The protest took off from Okokomaiko stretched down to Mile-2 axis, with different displayed placards and inscriptions, such as: #FIXBADAGRYEXPRESSROAD, Enough is Enough, We are also tax payers, No Retreat No Surrender etc.
The group under the umbrella of “Fix Lagos-Badagry Expressway Now Mass Movement”, said the protest was to draw attention of President Muhammedu Buhari and the Lagos State Governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s to the plights of residents, motorists and other road users as a result of neglect and abandonment of the international road, and To provide palaitive measures for the bad portions of the road.
The group, urged Sanwo-Olu to consider the road as his first assignment in office when he assumes office, stressing that Lagos- Badagry Expressway needed urgent attention.
“BOS please follow the right path to success and put our road in order,” the group urged.
