The executive arm of the Oriade LCDA has held its Year 2025 Budget Stakeholders Consultative Forum, which was tagged Budget of Compliment.
Attending the forum were stakeholders, revered Royal Fathers, influential community leaders, representatives from community development associations, market women and men, and religious bodies such as the Christian Association of Nigeria and the League of Imams, alongside security agencies like the Nigerian Navy (NNS WEY Ojo Navy Town), the Nigerian Police Force, the State Security Service, and the Lagos State Neighbourhood Corps (LSNC), including esteemed executive members, dedicated legislators, and diligent administrative members of our council.etc.
The forum was Addressed by Hon. Ramotalai Olanrewaju Akinlola-Hassan, the Executive Chairman, Oriade LCDA . The event shone the commitment of the executive arm of the LCDA to transparent governance and community involvement.
This event was significant. It marked the final budget of the Ramotalai led administration. A robust and open dialogue focusing on key economic indicators and budgetary constraints was held. Stakeholders were encouraged to voice their hopes and concerns. They focused particularly on critical areas such as education, staff and social welfare, healthcare, and infrastructure. Environmental sustainability, youth empowerment, and the promotion of sports and entertainment were also key areas discussed.
This interactive session not only highlighted collective aspirations but also established a framework for prioritizing allocations that genuinely reflect the needs and values of our community.
The active participation of representatives from the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Oriade Local Branch, business owners, and civil society organizations enriched discussions, ensuring that a wide range of perspectives were considered in our budgetary planning.
Speaking at the Forum was the LCDA Chairman who reiterated commitment to delivering greater dividends of democracy throughout the remaining period of her tenure, which concludes in the next eight months. We have completed almost all the abandoned projects from previous administrations, and we are leaving no stone unturned to complete all our projects before leaving office next year.
Achievements
The Council boss listed some achievement’s accomplished lately both Ongoing and recently completed projects. They are :
Distribution and installation of solar-powered streetlights on various streets across all wards.
Distribution of 15 units of 500 KVA transformers to different communities in Oriade LCDA, marking the largest single distribution by any local government in Lagos State.
commissioning of the 3-in-1 building at the council secretariat, which houses the LASIEC, CDC, and LNSC offices.
Renovation of the town hall in Ikaare community and Ibeshe Town Hall
Construction of the Site C Town Planning Road
Renovation of Satellite Town Nursery and Primary Schools 1 and 2
250 free GCE forms were distributed to students in the community to advance their studies to higher institutions.
Bursaries and scholarships were added to both indigent and non-indigent students of Oriade LCDA in various higher institutions across Nigeria, supporting their academic endeavors at levels including ND, HND, BSc, MSc, and PhD.
In the field of education, Over 450 school uniforms, sandals, and socks were shared to pupils from 20 public primary schools in Oriade LCDA as part of ongoing yearly intervention in the education sector.
Additionally, we provision of school furniture, including chairs and desks, to secondary schools further demonstrating our commitment to enhancing the learning environment for our students.
We have also continued to support our security agencies, and just a few months ago, we presented another set of operational vehicles and gadgets to the police and other security forces to ensure the safety of our community.
Our commitment to environmental health and public safety has driven us to enhance our drainage cleanup exercises with the help of our dedicated drain duck workers.
These achievements were made possible through the collective support and efforts of the amazing people of Oriade LCDA.
Ongoing Projects
Construction of 10 public toilets in riverine areas to promote public health in alignment with the SDG goals.
Expansion of the council secretariat with a new Legislative Building, a Chieftaincy Affairs Office, and a magnificent executive building.
Advancing healthcare with the construction of a primary health care center in Kirikiri Town
Continuous medical outreach to residents throughout the year, of which the last outreach was held on August 20, 2024, at the council secretariat, tagged “Alafia Eko.”
Several ongoing road projects aimed at improving connectivity within our community.
Currently, we are constructing a jetty at Ibasa Town, adding to our previously commissioned jetties at Ibeshe, Imoore, Egedeme, and Irede to further enhance connectivity for our residents in the riverine communities.

“We understand the financial difficulties associated with the ongoing reforms by the federal government of Nigeria. As the government closest to the people, we have continuously provided financial assistance, aid, and palliatives to our residents, staff, political office holders, youth, the elderly, and widows in Oriade LCDA.
Together, we strive to create a budget that not only addresses immediate concerns but also lays the foundation for sustainable growth and development in Oriade LCDA. This collaborative approach is vital as we work towards building a brighter future for all our residents, especially as we conclude our administration’s tenure.
