#Repairfestacbridge | Festac Link Bridge : Residents Lament Slow Repairs

105 days and counting since the gory incident of the Festac Link bridge inferno which Engulfed properties and goods worth millions of naira.   

Since the ill-fated incident which occurred on the 13th December 2017,  the link bridge which is a major route into Festac Town has been a source of concern,pain and headache for residents, workers and visitors as well.

On 20th of December 2017, the affected side of the bridge was officially closed for repair work to commence.

It took a while for repairs to commence on the supposed-damaged side of the Festac Link-bridge  but recently, work has seized to continue or be carried out.

Speaking to a daily commuter of the route.

Everyday i get home tired. I spend no less than 2 hours just to get out of Festac and sometimes more. The days i do not drive i am stuck in the public transport or else i have to come down and trek. Please something should be done fast.

The integrity of the bridge will be compromise due to continual exposure of the reinforcements to weather conditions.

Passing through the bridge, workers are no longer seen on site,work is being stalled. Residents are at risk especially late evenings.

Everyday there is always an issue of  a car being bashed / damaged due to the impatience of car owners.

The bridge route has become a thorn in the flesh for commuters. Residents are lamenting as its causing hardship on residents and our visitors.

Businesses are dying because customers have refused to enter Festac.

We are calling on the government and appropriate bodies to come to the rescue of the people and end this long-suffering.
