Residential Building Businesses On Fire: See Why

A 30-day notice has been issued by the Lagos State Government to owners of residential buildings that have been illegally converted to Churches, mosques, lounges, and bars without approval for change of use.

Reason For The Notice

This notice came in conjunction with prior said distortions of the plan of Lagos especially in residential areas by residents who disregarded all regulations, turning residential areas into clubhouses and worship centers, thus constituting a nuisance in the environment.

The removal notice became vital following security concerns of citizens and multiple complaints of disobedience to safety and security guidelines issued to the club owners.

Owners of buildings in residential areas that have been converted to churches, mosques, clubs, bars, or lounges without the requisite approvals have been given 30 days to evict occupants as the state will outrightly remove non-conforming buildings at the end of the given timeframe.
