The rotary club, Festac Town, Lagos has now installed its 41st president for the 2022-2023 Rotary year. The club also inducted members of the club’s Board of Directors for the new Rotarian year.
The club’s president disclosed this on Sunday during his investiture as the 41st president of Rotary Club of Festac Town and the induction of members of the club’s Board of Directors for the 2022-2023 Rotary year.
In his address at the occasion, the newly invested president described Rotary as an organization of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
He explained that the investiture of the president and induction of members of the Board of Directors is an annual event that every Rotary club uses to raise funds for projects lined up for the year.
Oluigbo speaking during his investiture as the 41st president of the club and the induction of the 2022/2023 Board of Directors of Rotary Club of FESTAC Town which includes Chief Fred Muolokwu (Akunebiokwu), Sir Igwe Nonso C, and Chief Donald Nnamdi Uzoeto as honorary Rotarians of Rotary Club of FESTAC Town.
He said
“Being the 41st president of this club shows that the Rotary Club of FESTAC Town has a rich history and has existed for the past 40 years. What we are doing today is not new in the club though it may sound alien to some of our guests who are just embracing Rotary.”
“Our club has done some very significant projects in the past ranging from equipping libraries in schools to sending children to India for corrective heart surgeries, tagged ‘Gift of Life Project’.
We have done potable water borehole projects for the Fire Service Station, Spinal Cord Injuries Association of Nigeria, renovated buildings at Festac Division of the Nigeria Police and so many others.
Our signature projects include the skills acquisition and empowerment programs we run every year,” Oluigbo said.
